What we collect, why we collect it, and what we never do with it.

Sofa Cycle Canada ("we", "us") sells preloved sofas and furniture protection products in Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area. This policy explains how we handle your personal information under Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL).
We only ask for what we need to get a sofa to your door or collect one from you:
We do not collect payment card details on this website. Any payment is handled by Square, whose own privacy policy applies to that transaction.
That's the whole list. We don't build advertising profiles and we don't track you across other websites.
When you tick the SMS consent box, you're giving us express consent under CASL to text you about that order or, for the waitlist, about matching sofas. You can withdraw consent at any time by replying STOP to any message, or by contacting us using the details below. We'll action it immediately and you'll receive no further messages.
Your information is handled by a small number of service providers who make the site work:
If we ever hire a delivery contractor, they receive only the address and access details needed to complete your delivery, and nothing more.
Order records are kept for up to 7 years, as required for Canadian business and tax records. Waitlist entries are kept until you ask to be removed, or after 12 months of no contact, whichever comes first. Donation photos are deleted once we've assessed the piece and the pickup is complete or declined.
Under PIPEDA you may, at any time:
Contact us and we'll respond within 30 days, as the law requires.
This website does not use advertising cookies or third-party trackers. Your cart and form progress are held temporarily in your browser's memory and disappear when you close the tab.
Where we embed content from Instagram, that content is served by Meta and their privacy policy applies to it. If you'd rather not load it, your browser's tracking protection will block it and the rest of the site still works normally.
This site is served over HTTPS, so anything you submit is encrypted in transit. That said, no method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security. We keep the information we hold to the minimum we actually need.
This site isn't directed at anyone under 18 and we don't knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we'll delete it.
If we change this policy we'll update the date at the top. Material changes affecting how we use information you've already given us will be communicated directly.
Questions, requests or complaints about privacy โ use the contact details on our home page, or:
If you're not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
